What right to the city for psychologically fragile people? Learnings from a peer-support group (1 encadré; 1 fig.; 1 tabl.)

Being part of the city and able to shape it are two main components of the right to the city as discussed by Henri Lefebvre. But what about people with mental health problems? How can they exercise such a right? This article stems from a qualitative study conducted in a peer-support group called a ‘‘GEM’’ located in a small French town. The article explores the influence of this peer-support group on the members’ relationship to the town, by analysing how the GEM increases their feeling of inclusion and gives them opportunities to transform the town. This article thus seeks to inform the discussion on inclusion in towns and cities of ageing people with mental health problems.
